Create something both grounded and in motion in this three-week ceramic mobile course, where clay meets balance, form, and quiet movement.
In week one, you’ll design and build your mobile from the ground up. We’ll explore shape, scale, and composition as you create a series of hand-built ceramic elements, with an emphasis on how each piece will interact once suspended. You’ll learn foundational techniques while also considering weight, proportion, and overall flow.
In week two, we shift into glazing. You’ll refine the surface of each piece, choosing finishes that enhance the rhythm and feeling of your mobile—whether soft and minimal or layered and expressive.
By week three, your pieces will be fired and ready to come together. You’ll learn how to assemble and balance your mobile, thoughtfully connecting each element so it hangs with ease and intention.
This class is perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind ceramic mobile and a deeper appreciation for how form, balance, and movement can live together in space.
