Discover the expressive qualities of charcoal through the organic forms of twisting vines, branches, and botanical structures. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use charcoal to create movement, contrast, and texture while capturing the natural rhythm and flow found in climbing plants.
We’ll explore line quality, layering, blending, and mark making to create depth and dimension. Students will practice balancing delicate details with bold charcoal gestures while developing a stronger understanding of shape, light, and shadow.
This class is designed as an exploration of observation and expression, encouraging you to see plants not just as objects, but as flowing forms full of movement and character.
All materials are provided. No experience is necessary, and artists of all skill levels are welcome.
