Discover the beauty of Hanji, a traditional Korean paper handmade from mulberry bark and celebrated for its rich texture, strength, and natural character. In this workshop, you’ll create a layered collage using hand-torn Hanji papers to build depth, movement, and subtle color relationships.
Through guided demonstrations, you’ll explore composition, texture, and the expressive possibilities of layering translucent and opaque papers. Whether you’re inspired by landscapes, botanicals, abstract forms, or quiet moments in nature, you’ll leave with a finished piece that highlights the unique qualities of this remarkable material.
This class is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. No drawing experience is necessary. All materials are provided, and you’ll go home with one frame-worthy original collage and a new appreciation for one of Korea’s most treasured artistic traditions.
