Slow down and sharpen your observation skills in this graphite drawing workshop focused on texture, repetition, and form. Using woven baskets as our subject, you’ll explore how repeated marks can create the illusion of depth, dimension, and intricate surface detail.
Throughout class, you’ll practice building value, capturing the rhythm of woven patterns, and using line quality to describe texture and structure. This study is designed to strengthen foundational drawing skills while encouraging patience and close observation, making it an excellent exercise for artists looking to improve their confidence with graphite.
All materials are provided. No experience is necessary, and artists of all skill levels are welcome.
