Charcoal Animal Portraits
July 3 @ 9:30 am - 12:30pm
This class focuses on capturing the personality and presence of animals through charcoal. Rather than trying to render every detail, you’ll learn how to focus on expression, structure, and the small shifts that make each animal feel distinct.
We’ll work through guided exercises that break down the face into shape and value. Exploring how to use contrast, edges, and mark making to bring attention to the eyes, posture, and subtle features that carry emotion.
Charcoal allows for both softness and boldness, giving you space to build depth while keeping the work loose and responsive.
Open to all levels. All materials are provided. Just come ready to observe closely and bring your subject to life.
